On April 21, 2017 Mark Cotter and Pat Polachek departed Pittsburgh to begin “Divine Mercy…On The Move – Tour #1 – 2017” to Stockbridge and New York.
Debbie Borjas Schmidt met them at the airport, and they joyfully sang Fr. Rob Galea’s anointed version of the Chaplet as they drove to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. They attended the talks by Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC and Fr. Chris Alar, MIC. All the events surrounding Divine Mercy Sunday: Rosary, Holy Mass, Adoration, Chaplet, and much more, were an amazing time of blessing for them (and the thousands in attendance) giving them the graces needed to perform their upcoming Works of Mercy.
This is the first house that Mother Teresa opened in the U.S.A. Pat, Debbie and Mark were asked to attend Mass with the Sisters in their private chapel and to give a presentation on their mission, the icons, and statue of Mary Ark of The New Covenant. Gifts were given to the Sisters and they were blessed to meet one of St. Teresa of Calcutta’s original 12 Sisters, Sr. Florencia. She presented them with a St. Mother Teresa medal which was touched to her tomb and also a holy card containing one of Mother Teresa’s beautiful prayers and they prayed it together with the community:
Dear Jesus,
Help to spread your fragrance everywhere we go. Flood our souls with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being, so utterly, that our lives may only be a radiance of yours. Shine through us, and be so in us, that every soul we come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul. Let them look up and see no longer us but Jesus! Stay with us, and then we will begin to shine as you shine; so to shine as to be a light to others; the light, O Jesus, will be all from you, none of it will be ours; it will be you, shining on others through us. Let us thus praise you in the way you love best by shining on those around us. Let us preach you without preaching, not by words but by our example, the sympathetic influence of what we do, the evident fullness of the love our hearts bear to you. Amen
They also made a presentation to the students at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Manhattan. The Renna’s version was taught to the K-4 graders and Fr. Rob’s version (with the Renna’s motions) to 5-8 graders. It was an amazing time to see the kids embrace The Divine Mercy Chaplet, watch the various short Knights of Columbus videos, Fr. Calloway’s conversion video, and listen to the student’s personal testimonies of the works of mercy they have performed in their lives. They definitively understood the message of Mercy!
Pat, Debbie and Mark give great thanks to God for sending them on their “Divine Mercy…On The Move – Tour #1 – 2017” and ask His continued blessings upon future Tours!
