DETAILS for beginning the
"Young Missionaries of Merciful Jesus" (YMMJ) Program
In March 2024, YMMJ team members, Nieves B. Chanthasoto and Ginny Minutello, met with Fr. Prospero Tenorio, National Coordinator for Divine Mercy Philippines and Secretary General of WACOM Philippines - Asia. Once again, he gave his blessing and approval of the YMMJ program. Father also gave contact information for the organizers of upcoming events to have the program aired during AACOM in Cebu in October, North American Conference of Mercy in Vancouver in November, and various organizers for radio stations.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Foundation of Jesus The Divine Mercy (“FJDM”) and Mercy on the Move (“MOM”) are grateful to Ginny Dimayuga Minutello for her recent meeting in the Philippines with Rev. Fr. Prospero V. Tenorio, WACOM ASIA - Secretary General Divine Mercy Philippines – National Coordinator in the Philippines, and for receiving the approval of Fr. Tenorio and the Board of trustees of the Divine Mercy Philippines Core Group. Their approval will afford FJDM and MOM the opportunity to spread the message of Divine Mercy through our unique program in the Philippines and among Filipino families worldwide.
We are grateful for God’s blessings, and we ask for your continued prayers and support to assist us in our mission and works of mercy in 2023.
Ginny’s testimony to the power of the words, “Jesus, I trust in You.”
My imminent retirement was fast approaching in 2018. I prayed often to receive direction, “Lord, what are you calling me to do?” and “Jesus, I trust in You.” One day, out of the blue, my Canadian cousin, Ethelyn, whom I hadn't spoken with in a while, called to nonchalantly relay that she was a Board member of Foundation of Jesus The Divine Mercy (“FJDM”). Without promoting or expounding on it, she simply asked that I check out the website, and I obliged.
As packed with information as the website was, the Global Divine Mercy Chaplet link caught my attention. It surprised and saddened me to see that the Philippines was absent from the list of countries participating in The Divine Mercy Global challenge. Immediately, I felt compelled to do something to have the Philippines included in this program. After all, how hard would it be to translate the Children's Divine Mercy Chaplet from English to Tagalog?
Well, it took longer than anticipated to adapt the Tagalog lyrics to the existing English melody composed by Mary Ann Renna from Alabama. Its use and purpose, however, clearly emerged as weeks went by.
Around the time the translation was completed, Hollywood stars and individuals I personally knew or knew of in the Philippines were committing suicide. If only they were aware of God’s love and mercy, could they have been spared such deep despair and isolation? With the increase of mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression, along with a rise in suicide, there became an urgent desire to teach children about God’s unfathomable love and mercy for them.
At the 2019 Divine Mercy Conference in Toronto, Canada, Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC, met with Ethelyn, Nieves from NJ, and Pat from PA (Founder of FJDM). As if it was providentially orchestrated, Mercy on the Move (MOM) was born shortly after Ethelyn cyber-introduced me to Nieves and Pat. Thus began our mission to spread The Divine Mercy Chaplet to Filipino children.
That fall, Nieves traveled to her hometown in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She collaborated with staff, parents and children from two elementary schools who agreed to start “The Divine Mercy Kids Prayer Group.” Within a year, the children were filmed praying and singing the Tagalog version of the Kids’ Chaplet of The Divine Mercy, in reverent motion. Soon after, the video became part of the Global Family Eucharistic Holy Hour (“GFEHH”) and Global Divine Mercy Chaplet (“GDMC”) programs which airs globally on Eternal Word Television Network (“EWTN”). In early 2021, The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy by Filipino children with English subtitles was produced as a covid project. Since January 2022, these programs have been aired weekly on EWTN Asia Pacific.
With MOM originating from North America, God always connected people in the past. I continued to ask for His Divine intervention on how to kick start the program to all Filipinos throughout the Philippines and the world. After over a year of patience and perseverance, the opportunity arose for me to travel to the Philippines to visit family and to speak with someone from the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Bulacan, Philippines. Trusting in Jesus, I was led to none other than the man I needed to connect with -- Rev. Fr. Prospero V. Tenorio -- Secretary General of the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy Asia and the National Coordinator of Divine Mercy Philippines. I was very humbled when he and the Board of Trustees of the Divine Mercy Philippines Core Group graciously endorsed our MOM program. Their willingness to support it is a great honor and very much appreciated.
We, from North America, are truly excited about the unimaginable possibilities that can be accomplished by this collaboration with our brothers and sisters in the Philippines.
Thank you, Fr. Pros!
In His service,
Ginny
